Just Hike: 9.5 mile Hurt Wood, Pitch Hill & Holmbury with Windmill & Coffee barn (PH-1)

A magical 15km route: Starting in stunning Winterfold via a magical route amongst the pine trees of Hurt wood leading to our favourite coffee stop before reaching the beautiful views of Holbury Hill, Pitch Hill and the Ewhurst Windmill.

This route has lots of stunning hill-top views and interesting trails with Winterfold and Hurtwood forming the South of Surrey Hills AONB; Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, creating a stunning walking experience. Following  Hurt Wood heathlands we’ll join the Greensand Way and stop half way at our favourite coffee barn with Surrey’s best coffee (we have tried a few) the Heartworks cafe, a converted barn coffee shop. Refuelled, we’ll then head towards Holmbury Hill and Pitch Hill both with the best views in the Surrey Hills and passing the Windmill on our way back.

Please note: There are many Hurtwood car parks, it is number 12! that we are meeting.

Please ensure you bring water and snack for the walk. Please wear sturdy shoes; bring waterproofs if necessary. The distance and duration of the walk depends on the group’s pace and weather conditions. We aim for a medium walking pace with several stops, unless advertised in the event description.
