Women’s Wellness Walk’s in Surrey
If you’re a regular walker, you’ll already be aware of the physical and mental benefits of spending time in nature and moving your body. Add some good chat along the way, and you’ll be buzzing for hours. I’ve met some incredible people during my years of organising group hikes, each one of them sharing a fresh perspective, maybe a new hobby I hadn’t heard of, or interesting professional expertise. But there was always a common thread – that we don’t make enough time for ourselves in our busy lives sometimes resulting in burnout.
“I just can’t find the time”
I hear this a lot from local women in Surrey, and there’s no denying we all need to take more time out for ourselves. A recent survey by experts at The Latte Lounge found that just 69.8% of women over 40 spend less than five hours a week on their own needs. It eventually dawned on me that some of my walks could provide this valuable space for women, offering the perfect combo of time in nature and supportive time out.
And so my Women’s Wellness Walk’s were born
My guided women’s only walks are usually an easy 3-4-mile route amongst the stunning Surrey Hills on Fridays or Sundays. We explore amazing countryside and villages such as Shere, Gomshall, Godalming, Leith Hill & Blackheath. Despite each one focusing on a different themed topic with an expert present for advice, there’s never any obligation to share or contribute. Walks are at a very gentle social pace, always pausing for a pit-stop at a café to chat a bit more, plus there’s always time to take in the views along the way.

There’s no expectations or judgements
Timira joined us last year with her 2 little dogs after suffering from burnout caused by many screen-heavy hours and work pressure. Through these walks she has found a better balance between work and life and allows more time for the things that bring her joy. Whatever the reason, there’s no expectations or judgement and we walk in a group so no one gets left behind if they have a slower pace. I’m just so pleased there are more women out there starting to notice how important it is to take time out and reconnect.
