Just Hike: 18km Farnham Heath, Craft Brewery and Bourne Woods
Explore some of the Surrey Hills’ most spectacular heathland, enjoy panoramic viewpoints, discover famous film locations and stop at a farm-based craft brewery.
This NEW extended version of one of our favourite Surrey walks explores the best of the Surrey Hills, taking in beautiful heathland, woodland, lakes and far-reaching views. Starting in the picturesque village of Tilford, we’ll make our way via Stockbridge Pond onto Hankley Common, one of southern England’s finest remaining lowland heath landscapes. Home to rare birds, reptiles and wildflowers, it’s a wonderful place to experience this unique habitat.
We’ll continue across Frensham Common and along King’s Ridge, enjoying sweeping views over Frensham Little Pond and Frensham Great Pond, before stopping at Pierrepont Farm’s popular craft brewery and taproom, where Sheppard’s food hut serves a range of well-earned refreshments.
Our return takes us through Farnham Heath Nature Reserve and the atmospheric Bourne Woods, a favourite filming location for productions including Gladiator, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Captain America.
A varied and scenic walk combining spectacular heathland, panoramic views, wildlife, film history and great local food and drink.
