Jen’s Nature Walk: 15km Winkworth and Godalming Autumn Colours Circular

Autumn nature hike through woodland, farmland and along the River Wey. 
Enjoy a scenic 15km nature hike through some of Surrey’s most beautiful autumn landscapes, with a particular focus on the changing colours of the season and the variety of trees and woodland along the route.
We’ll start by making our way through Juniper Valley towards Winkworth Arboretum, taking in the spectacular autumn colours and enjoying the peaceful woodland trails. We’ll follow a route through the arboretum along the public right of way only, so there’s no need for a National Trust card or payment.
From here, we’ll continue through a mixture of woodland and open farmland towards Godalming, enjoying changing scenery and sweeping countryside views.
We’ll then pick up the River Wey, following the peaceful riverside path before making our way back towards Hydon Heath at the start.
A beautiful autumn hike combining colourful woodland, farmland, riverside scenery and some of Surrey’s finest trees and landscapes.

Difficulty: Moderate, some inclines
Duration: Approximately 4.5-5 hours
Bring: Snacks, plenty of water, lunch
Facilities: No facilities guaranteed, possible at Winkworth or Godalming
Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Description: Opposite the Junction of Clock Barn Lane with Salt Barn Lane

Please note if coming from the North Direction (Busbridge / Godalming way) – the car park will be on your right with a fairly obvious wooden National Trust Car Park sign. If coming from the South obviously on your left however the sign is quite hard to see until you are almost at the entrance.

Please ensure you bring water and snack for the walk. Please wear sturdy shoes; bring waterproofs if necessary. The distance and duration of the walk depends on the group’s pace and weather conditions. We aim for a medium walking pace with several stops, unless advertised in the event description.
