A beautiful Surrey Hills loop taking in Winkworth’s peaceful woodland, open commons and quiet countryside around Hambledon. This route feels like a real escape into nature.

Join us on this stunning 20km circular walk through woodland, heathland and countryside, with varied terrain and far-reaching views along the way. This is a longer day out, perfect if you’re looking to build distance while still enjoying plenty of scenic variety.

We set off from Godalming train station, heading out through woodland trails towards Winkworth Arboretum, where winding paths, lakes and seasonal colour make this one of the most picturesque sections of the route. From here, we continue through peaceful countryside and on towards Hambledon, passing through quiet lanes, commons and open stretches with beautiful Surrey Hills views.

There will be opportunities to pause, take in the surroundings and refuel along the way, before looping back through a mix of woodland and open trails towards Godalming.
