Just Hike: 14km Gomshall to Guildford Along North Downs Way Trail
Explore one of the most stunning sections of the North Downs Way on this scenic linear walk from Gomshall to Guildford.
Starting in the pretty Surrey village of Gomshall, we’ll begin with a climb up to join the North Downs Way before following the trail west towards Guildford.
Led by Martin, a North Downs Way Ambassador, the walk takes in some of the highlights of this beautiful stretch of the trail. We’ll follow the North Downs ridge through the Surrey Hills to Newlands Corner, where we’ll stop for a break and have time to enjoy the far-reaching views.
From here, we’ll continue towards St Martha’s Hill and St Martha’s Church, one of the most memorable viewpoints along this section of the North Downs Way. Sitting high above the surrounding countryside, the hill offers fantastic views across the Surrey Hills and towards the South Downs.
The route then continues through the woodland and countryside around the Chantries as we make our way towards Guildford, where the walk finishes. There will be the option to stop for a well-earned coffee at the end of the walk.
Along the way, Martin will share his knowledge of the North Downs Way and the surrounding landscape, making this a great opportunity to discover more of the trail while enjoying some of its best scenery.
